Nights Out
A Girls' Night Out
The same driver all evening, so the last stop is as easy as the first.
What actually makes an evening work
Three stops, and no gaps between them.
The evening that goes wrong is the one where the first taxi is easy, the second takes twenty minutes to arrive, and by the third nobody can get one at all and half the group has given up and gone back.
Having one driver for the whole evening removes that entirely. You come out, the car is there, you go on to the next place.
A shape that works
Collected from the villa. Dinner in Grand Case, dropped at the door on a street where parking is otherwise a real problem. On to a bar afterwards, or across to Maho or Simpson Bay where things run later. The casinos if that is the mood.
Home whenever. Not at a time agreed in advance.
If it is one place and back, dinner driver is the simpler booking.
Why not just take taxis
Two reasons, and neither is about the money — though the money helps.
The official tariff charges per person above two passengers. Six people making three journeys pays eighteen per-person fares. Per vehicle, six people pay what two do.
And after ten at night the Dutch-side rate rises by 25%, while the French side rises by 50% after midnight — which is exactly the journey home from Grand Case. See the full tariff.
The second reason matters more: at one in the morning on an island you do not know, being collected by someone whose name you know, in a car you recognise, is worth a great deal. That is the reassurance most groups are actually buying.
Practical
Grand Case parking fills by about seven. Being dropped at the door is the difference between an evening and a walk.
Kitchens close earlier than you think. If dinner is at nine, that is fine; at ten, ask us first.
Shoes. The Grand Case strip is a walk and the road surface is uneven in places. Worth knowing before you choose.
Say if the group is spread out. Two villas means a pickup order, and it is far better decided in advance than in a driveway.
For a whole trip
If the night out is one evening of a longer trip, the girls' trip package covers the airport, the beach days, the dinners and the departure as one booking with the same driver throughout.
Questions people actually ask
Can we change the plan during the evening?
Yes, and most groups do. The driver is yours for the evening rather than booked for three specific journeys, so a change of mind at half past ten is not a renegotiation.
How late can we go?
As late as you want. The bars in Maho and Simpson Bay run well past when the restaurants stop, and the casinos go later still.
Is it the same driver we had earlier in the week?
If you are booking more than one thing with us, yes, that is what we plan for. Knowing the person driving you at one in the morning is most of why this is worth doing.
Can you collect us from different places?
Yes, if the group is spread across two villas or hotels. Tell us at the start and we will build the pickup order rather than improvise it while everyone is waiting.
