Your Driver
About Us
The alternative on this island is a dispatch queue of two hundred drivers. We are a father and son who drive their own van.
Who we are
A family, based at the Philipsburg cruise terminal, driving our own van.
Gerel started it and still drives. Wedson, his son, drives with him.
That is the whole answer to "who is the family business", and we would rather say it plainly than put the words family owned in a footer and hope you take our word for it. When we say you get the same driver, it is because there are two of us and we both know where you are staying.
First names throughout, on this site and in the WhatsApp thread, because that is how you will be introduced.
Why that matters
The alternative here is either the airport taxi association, which dispatches around two hundred drivers and sends whoever is next in the queue, or an offshore booking platform that takes your money and passes the job to somebody.
Neither can offer you the same driver twice, because neither knows who drove you last time.
We can. And by the third day of a stay that stops being a marketing distinction and becomes the actual product — nobody explaining where the villa is, which gate, that one of you gets carsick on the mountain road.
What we actually do
Airport transfers, cruise-port days, private drivers by the day or the week, dinners and nights out, weddings and groups, and the villa runs that make an arrival work.
The whole island, both countries. There is no border formality here, so the French side is not a special arrangement — it is Tuesday.
How we work
Fixed prices, per vehicle. Not per person, which is how the official island tariff works above two passengers, and not a meter. The price you are quoted is the price you pay.
Prices before contact details. You should be able to find out what something costs without giving us your phone number, and on this site you can.
The wait is included. A taxi that drops you at a beach is not a taxi that is there when you want to leave.
One thread. Twenty-four hours before your first pickup, we send your driver's name, the vehicle and its plate on WhatsApp. That thread stays open for the rest of your stay.
What we will tell you
That Orient Bay is 45 minutes each way and probably not worth it on a six-hour port call.
That Maho is a poor beach for swimming and you should go to Mullet Bay instead.
That renting a car is the better answer for some weeks, and which weeks those are.
We would rather lose a booking than have you spend a day badly. It is a small island and we are still here next week.
Licensed and insured
Both, and it is worth asking any operator here the same question. Visitors to St. Maarten are warned about unlicensed drivers, and that warning exists for a reason.
Getting hold of us
WhatsApp is the fastest and it is how the island works. Message us with your dates and we will come back with a price rather than a form.
Questions people actually ask
How big is your operation?
One nine-seat van, driven by Gerel and his son Wedson. That is the whole operation, and it is deliberate rather than a limitation — it is why the person who collects you on Tuesday is the person who collected you on Sunday.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, on both counts, and it is worth asking any operator here the same question. Visitors are warned about unlicensed drivers for good reason.
Do you operate on the French side too?
Yes. We work across the whole island — Grand Case, Marigot, Orient Bay and the French villa areas — as well as the Dutch side. There is no border formality, so it is one island for us.
What languages do your drivers speak?
Both of us speak English and Kreyol (Haitian Creole). If you would like to write to us in Kreyol, please do.
