About 35 minutes from the terminal: across to the French side and up the west coast, past or through Marigot. There is no border post and no checkpoint. A sign at the roadside and then you are in France.

Is it worth it?

If Grand Case is where you are staying, there is not much to weigh: it is a single road of restaurants beside a west-facing bay, and a booked driver gets you there from the airport without the rank or the queue.

What is in Grand Case

One narrow road along the bay with restaurants down both sides. At the northern end the lolos, open-air barbecue stands grilling ribs, chicken, fish and lobster over charcoal. Along the rest, French kitchens with tables on the water. It is quiet during the day, with a fair amount closed, and it comes alive when the sun goes down over the bay.

Child seats and luggage

Child seats are available, and you request them when you book. Luggage depends on the seating: with every seat in place the van takes carry-on and light luggage only. For full luggage we take up to six guests, with the back row removed to make room for 10 to 15 large suitcases, so give us the number of guests and the number of suitcases when you book and the van is set up in advance. Seven to eleven guests with full luggage does not fit one van, and is quoted on request.
