SXM Airport to Mullet Bay

Getting there

About 15 minutes from the terminal, past Maho and on towards Cupecoy. It is the western end of the Dutch side, close to the French border, and Cupecoy next door is where the cliffs and the sunsets are.

The Simpson Bay bridge is on the main route between the airport, Simpson Bay, Maho and Cupecoy, so allow for it: fifteen to twenty minutes when it is open. We plan around the published openings.

How this trip is priced

Transfers are quoted per trip, based on the official St. Maarten taxi zone rates, which depend on how many of you there are. The full official table is on the taxi rates page. Send your flight number, the date, the pickup and drop-off, the number of guests and the number of suitcases, and the quote comes back after that. Payment is in cash, in US dollars only.

Is it worth it?

Yes, if the beach is the point. Maho is famous and Mullet Bay is better: long, sandy, gentler water, with sea grape trees giving actual shade at the back. It is the beach people mean when they say they want a beach.

What it is not is a resort. There are loungers and umbrellas, a few bars and food, and not much else, which is what many people want. On a day with a swell running the shore break can pick up, and it is worth asking us on the morning rather than discovering it after the drive.

For a longer day, Maho in the early afternoon for the arrivals and Mullet Bay in the morning for the swim is the combination we suggest most often.

Child seats and luggage

Child seats are available, and you request them when you book. Luggage depends on the seating: with every seat in place the van takes carry-on and light luggage only. For full luggage we take up to six guests, with the back row removed to make room for 10 to 15 large suitcases, so give us the number of guests and the number of suitcases when you book and the van is set up in advance. Seven to eleven guests with full luggage does not fit one van, and is quoted on request.
